Camping

We highly recommend you stay in our onsite campground, which is located adjacent to the festival grounds. Camping passes are available for purchase at the Main Gate. Individuals must be a Festival Weekend Pass holder to obtain a camping pass.

  • The festival campground opens at 12 noon on Thursday
  • Campers under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All sites are unserviced and are issued on a first come, first served basis – there are no reserved camping sites or spots
  • Tenting areas allow tents and RVs under 18’. Large RVs must park in designated RV areas.
  • The campground quiet time is 11 p.m. Excessive noise is anything that will wake your neighbours up.
  • It can be quite chilly at night on the shores of Lake Superior so be sure to bring warm sleeping bags, appropriate camping gear and layered clothing for the weekend
  • There are no unauthorized fires allowed.
  • Generators must be turned off by 10 p.m.  For safety reasons, generators are not allowed in the tenting area.
  • Glass containers, illegal substances and fireworks are not permitted
  • Alcohol is only allowed at individual campsites.
  • Campers under 19 years of age observed to be consuming alcohol will have it confiscated.
  • Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • For health and safety reasons pets are not allowed on the festival grounds or in the campgrounds.
  • Bicycles may be ridden on roadways.  Walk your bicycle when you are on festival grounds or moving through campsites. Obey all traffic regulations and please wear a helmet.

Be good camping neighbours. The size of the campground at Live from the Rock means that all camping areas are quiet camping areas.  We are a family friendly event and there will no doubt be children among those camping.

For night owls: There are two bonfires near the marina at the east end of the gravel road past the boat slips.

The first one you will encounter is a hosted song-circle for those who wish to share tunes or sing along. All are welcome, but you may be lovingly “shushed” if your chatter disrupts the songs.

The second, affectionately called the “non-shush fire”, is for those inclined to join friends in conversation. It is located a little further along the jetty.

Vehicle Parking:  Choose parking spots wisely.  If you are parked near your tent, and away from the roadway, plan on leaving your vehicle in place during the festival. It is not safe to drive around tents, and you may be boxed-in once the campground fills up.

Failure to comply with campground rules may result in removal from the campground and festival grounds. The Red Rock Marina Building has showers and indoor washrooms accessible to festival campers for the weekend during Marina Building hours. Bagged ice is available at the marina kiosk, Saunders Foodland or Dampier’s Offshore Variety, both located on Salls Street, downtown Red Rock.
